How to choose the correct MTU setting for your PS4
If the value has been set too low in the MTU settings of your PS4, it may happen that too little data in a package arrives with you. This in turn has the consequence that the content does not run fluently or download too much time. If this is the case, you have the option of adjusting the MTU value in the PS4 settings. To do this, proceed as follows:
- Open the "Settings" on your PS4.
- Then go to "Network" and then set up "Internet connection".
- Now select the appropriate setting, depending on whether you are connected to the Internet with the WLAN or the LAN cable.
- Click "Custom".
- Under "IP Address" and "DHCP" select "Automatic".
- Under "MTU" you can now customize the value. Usually, this is set to "Automatic" by default. However, you can set it to "Manual" and enter the value "1473". If this does not lead to the desired result, then the value "1450" is possible.
7. In the last step, save the settings.
