Test should improve the quality of the nominations

The Wayfarer test is part of the Niant program of the same name, over which it has been necessary to submit nominations. Niantic writes why developers have decided to make the test mandatory: "We added a function to the [Wayfarer] feature by locking the submission function in Pokémon Go until the Wayfarer quiz has been passed We sure that participants have examined the nomination criteria, which we expect a better quality of nominations. "

Niantic wants to ensure that players are not simply proposing any places as Pokéstops, but at least deal with the rules of the program during the nomination in advance. The Wayfarer test is therefore a selection of ten random questions about the Wayfarer program.

You must answer, among other things, whether a certain place fulfills or not the criteria for a waypoint in the sense of the program.
